Yamaha Music School Online, Powered by TrueFire, Launches Globally

Yamaha’s press release credits TrueFire Studios’ platform expertise and content library as foundational to the new global online music education service.

ST. PETERSBURG, FL — TrueFire Studios, LLC, the parent company of TrueFire, ArtistWorks, and JamPlay — the world’s leading online music education platforms — today announced the official launch of Yamaha Music School Online, a new global online music lesson service built on TrueFire’s platform technology and content infrastructure.

In its official press release issued today, Yamaha Corporation credited TrueFire Studios’ “platform development and operational expertise” and “educational content library” as foundational elements of the new service. The announcement was made jointly by Yamaha Corporation, Yamaha Music Japan Co., Ltd., and the Yamaha Music Foundation.

“For a company that started as a small startup in St. Petersburg, Florida and grew one lesson, one student, one artist at a time, to now serve as the technology and content engine behind a global Yamaha initiative is a defining moment in our company’s history.”

About Yamaha Music School Online

【YAMAHA MUSIC SCHOOL ONLINE】ヤマハ講師があなたの学びに寄り添うオンラインレッスン

Yamaha Music School Online brings Yamaha-certified instructors to students worldwide through two complementary lesson formats: asynchronous chat-based lessons, where students submit practice videos and receive personalized instructor feedback, and live one-on-one video sessions for real-time guidance. The service currently supports piano, acoustic guitar, and electric guitar, and is designed for adult learners at beginner to intermediate levels.

The platform fuses Yamaha’s 70-plus years of music education methodology — including its proprietary curricula, teaching frameworks, and instructor certification standards — with the technology infrastructure and content library that TrueFire Studios has built over nearly two decades of operating at the forefront of online music education.

TrueFire’s Role

TrueFire Studios served as Yamaha’s technology and content partner in developing the platform. The company’s contributions include its proven online learning platform architecture, content delivery infrastructure, and educational content library — assets refined through years of powering TrueFire, ArtistWorks, and JamPlay, which collectively serve hundreds of thousands of music students worldwide.

TrueFire’s platform supports an extensive catalog of over 80,000 interactive lessons from more than 300 world-class artists and educators spanning every genre and skill level. This depth of content and platform maturity were key factors in Yamaha’s selection of TrueFire Studios as its partner for this initiative.

What’s Next

The launch marks the first phase of a broader global rollout. According to Yamaha’s announcement, hybrid courses combining online and in-person instruction at Yamaha classroom locations are already under consideration, with expansion into Europe and North America on the roadmap.

“This launch validates years of platform development and the quality of the content library we’ve built alongside 300+ world-class artists. But it’s also just the beginning. We’re excited to help Yamaha bring music education to more students around the world, and to continue growing this partnership across new instruments, new formats, and new markets.”
