On Episode 29 of Blues Chronicles, we meet the “King of the Boogie,” John Lee Hooker. After the passing of Hooker’s father in 1923, Hooker’s mother remarried a blues singer named, William Moore. John credits this new father figure as the one who taught him the droning style of guitar that would eventually become part of Hooker’s legacy.
