This is a 12 Bar Blues in D with a ‘quick’ change in measure 2. Making another appearance is the trusty ol’ Boogie Woogie rhythm, but this time it’s moving along pretty quickly! Be sure to stay as relaxed as possible in both hands – tension is the enemy! A slight right hand palm ‘smack’ on the backbeat (beats 2 & 4) really brings this groove alive. Another point of interest is in measures 1 & 2 of the 3rd chorus – Josh uses a cool walking pattern to outline the quick change from I to IV and back again.
