In this lesson, I cover five slippery techniques to make you sound more expressive and help you attain the sound of guitarists such as Derek Trucks, Warren Haynes, Duane Allman, et al — without a bottle (played on the Gil Parris Signature II built by Reverend Guitars).
I’ll begin with three choruses of Blues utilizing many “fake slide” techniques. I’ll follow with breakdowns of the following:
1. Playing on one string
2. Right hand dampening
3. Unique slides going in opposite directions
4. Ghosting and arpeggiating triads for a more aggressive sounds
5. An example of mixing Major and Minor Pentatonic scales
