Online guitar lessons are easy to find, but where is best? Here are reviews of 5 top websites.

Soundslice
Music teachers use the product to add value to their teaching, and websites use the platform to make their online guitar lessons more effective. They also sell interactive sheet music on behalf of great artists.
The platform was created by two people, Adrian Holovaty and PJ Macklin, to solve a major pain point in their lives as musicians: the process of learning a piece of music is way too inefficient.
Like many guitar players, the Soundslice founders didn’t read sheet music well and relied on a combination of reading music/tablature, listening to recordings and watching online guitar lessons when we learn a new piece. They wanted something that put all of that in one place, synced together, so we could hear the music while we viewed the corresponding notation. We also wanted to be able to hone in on particular parts of a piece — allowing us to loop and slow down specific parts. Hence, Soundslice was born.
Texas Blues Alley
Anthony Stauffer started playing guitar at the age of 18. His earliest and most significant influence was Stevie Ray Vaughan. He’s been teaching guitar lessons online since 2007.
In 2007, Anthony Stauffer started putting short online guitar lessons on YouTube. The popularity of the lessons began to accelerate quickly, so he built a small website and called it StevieSnacks.com (small, snack-sized online guitar lessons in the style of Stevie Ray Vaughan). Then he soon began selling longer video guitar courses. In 2009, he decided to leave his job as a software engineer to run StevieSnacks full-time.
StevieSnacks continued to grow in popularity, but Stauffer was never satisfied with the name ‘StevieSnacks’ — it was a name he chose with very little thought, long before he had any clue how successful it would become. In 2013, Stauffer began a careful, deliberate process of rethinking his entire online guitar lessons business. In January of 2014, he put down the guitar, picked up his laptop and began coding furiously. Texas Blues Alley was born in April of 2014.
Texas Blues Alley is a place where guitar players who are serious about their craft can learn, improve, and be inspired. What you’ll find here is incredible online blues guitar lessons, a serious case of gear addiction, and a place to play along and be inspired.
YourGuitarSage
Erich has been playing guitar for almost 30 years now (yes, he started very young), and he is known for sharing that experience and journey on the instrument with those eager to learn the guitar. He has been playing and/or teaching professionally since he was a teenager and has played in numerous bands and projects in both live and studio settings over the last few decades. He estimates he has taught hundreds of students thousands of songs via thousands of online guitar lessons.
Erich grew up with classical 50s, 60s, 70s & 80s music, but now plays just about anything that sounds good including rock, blues, country, hip-hop, dub-step (not that there is a lot of guitars in that), classical, swing and a bit of jazz. He has a true passion for teaching and loves every minute of it!
The YourGuitarSage mantra is, “You can do ANYTHING that you set your mind to, if you do the work and take the steps that are required to get there.”

Robert started out playing blues and heavier rock, but turned towards L.A. pop-rock music in his later teen years. Eventually he returned to his blues roots, but he also discovered jazz and fusion. Tribal Tech and Chick Corea Electric Band were huge influences for him, as well as Weather Report, Miles Davis and all the jazz from the 50s and 60s. After he moved to Canada in 1999, he has also been influenced by country guitar players such as Albert Lee and Brent Mason, and by listening more to song writers such as John Hiatt and Joni Mitchell.
An avid teacher, Robert won TrueFire’s Next Top Guitar Instructor Competition in 2013. His website is focused on teaching guitar, and Robert creates great online guitar lessons for his members. The look and feel of this site is clean and non-cluttered. You can tell Robert puts his heart and soul into creating high quality online guitar lessons. Everything seems to be focused on helping you improve as a player.
