Professor Ray Nijenhuis explains and demonstrates a very useful right hand pattern concept, and how to instantly add some fun chord progressions to your playing. For more awesome guitar lessons from Ray, check out his courses!

In this lesson I’d like to show you that one chord ( ANY chord you like) and a steady right hand picking pattern is all it takes to get you grooving. Really. Once you got this, just add a chord while the rhythm keeps going. Then, see what happens when you do this with the chords of your favorite song. You’ll be surprised!

The next step could be using a more complex chord progression. An Eldon Shamblin type chord sequence with a moving bassline for example like I explain in my course 50 Western Swing Licks You MUST Know.

Have fun!
