Blues Chronicles #19: Tampa Red – Guitar History Lesson – Reverend Robert Jones

In this 19th Episode of Blues Chronicles, we learn about the “man with the golden guitar,” Tampa Red. Red Was dubbed this nickname because of the limited edition, gold-plated resonator guitar he played. Aside from making this name for himself, Red was also one of the first Chicago bluesmen to start using an electric guitar in his performances and recordings.
