Learning how to take a solo is a rite of passage for serious guitar players. And, thinking about taking a guitar solo, you are probably imagining a yourself holding an electric guitar; this is where most of us learn to solo first! However, what happens when it comes time to take a solo on an acoustic guitar? Although many techniques on electric guitar translate perfectly to acoustic, this is not one of them. In fact, the approach one should take for soloing on an acoustic guitar is quite different than doing so on an electric.
